Science vs. Fiction

This is my personal opinion and review of the article "So Movies Shouldn't Break the Laws of Physics? Don't Tell Captain Kirk" by David Mitchell

This article is about science fitcion movies, and their absurd mistakes. In the beginning of the article, Mitchell talks about common mistakes, easy to detect by inexperts, like variation in the lenght of a cigarrette in a scene, ilogical medical procedures, etc... But then he mentions how scientists has found many more flaws, and are willing to stop them.

Professor Sidney Perkowitz has decided to stop the science mistakes for the benefit of science (obviously), scientist and even the audience. Professor used as example several movies like "The Core", where its characters go to the center of the Earth, all they do is lightly sweat during the expedition. If someone could ever  travel to the Earth's core, they would inmediatly burn alive and evaporate. He also cited "Starship Troopers" where giant insect exist, but in real life, those instect would "collapse under its own weight".

So what Professor Perkowitz proposed was a limit of one major science flaw per movie (In the article "Drive to make Hollywood obey the laws of science") 

I think that it is an exageration to prohibit fiction in movies, because that is why movies are for, to escape reality and to enjoy seeing a world unknown and impossible to live in. I think that the producers creativity should not be stopped or limited by no means, and that science should comment about movies but not prohibit or interfer with them.
